Our Team

Mordini Watters Capital Partners was co-founded in 2007 by experienced real estate investors, Bob Mordini and Dan Watters. The principals together bring over 30 years of combined experience in real estate acquisition and management. Likewise, each additional member of the MWCP team brings their own talent and experience, adding to the dynamics of the group.


Robert D. MordiniRobert D. Mordini, Jr., Managing Partner:

Mr. Mordini has been actively involved in many aspects of the Greater Denver real estate and business world since 1988 and is the founder of Mordini Watters Capital Partners. Since inception, the MWCP portfolio has become diverse, including income-producing operating companies and real estate holdings. In 2008, MWCP acquired Summit Field Services, a roll up of four oil field service companies in the Denver-Julesburg Basin, totaling 130 employees, with combined annual revenues of over $30 million. Mr. Mordini is a founder and managing partner in Momentum Funding, a key player in the lending aspect of the “fix and flip” market in Denver Colorado and the provider of factoring services. In 2005, Mr. Mordini acquired property in the Barnett Shale, located in the Ft. Worth area of Texas, that had the potential of oil and gas production royalties. As a result, MWCP now owns rights to more than six active gas wells, along with other royalty interests. Prior to forming MWCP, Mordini was the founder and managing partner for a successful real estate investment company called Icon Investment Group. While running Icon, Mordini and his partners, which included Dan Watters, made numerous investments in a variety of real estate plays totaling over 60 transactions, giving investors returns of over 30% IRR. Prior to starting Icon, Mordini was the Vice President of Acquisitions for Sevo Miller, where he helped to acquire more than forty apartment properties in six different markets and was nationally recognized for his efforts. He also worked at CB Commercial as an apartment specialist. Mr. Mordini moved to Denver, Colorado in 1988 after spending three years at Xerox Corporation as an Account Representative. Mr. Mordini graduated from Coe College in Iowa in 1985 and is an active coach and a volunteer and contributor to more than twenty local charities.




Daniel M. WattersDaniel M. Watters, Managing Partner:

Mr. Watters has been actively involved in the real estate industry since 1992. Mr. Watters is one of the founders and principals of MWCP and was a partner with Mr. Mordini in Icon Investment Group since 2002. At MWCP, Mr. Watters acts as managing partner of Summit Field Services and takes an active role in the management of operations for construction projects and operating companies within the MWCP portfolio. During his tenure with Icon, Mr. Watters was successful with the acquisition, management, development, and financing of approximately 40 undervalued real estate assets, including commercial properties, multi-family properties, raw land, retail, and manufactured housing, totaling over $200 million. Prior to joining Icon, Mr. Watters spent five years managing the development of luxury apartment communities for JPI Development, Inc. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Watters served as Vice President of Bates Construction, Inc., a small residential framing company based in Fort Collins, Colorado. Mr. Watters graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. He is an active contributor and volunteer of several local charities and sits on the board of Open Fairways, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk youth through the life-lessons of golf.




Jason SmithJason L. Smith, Vice President of Operations:

Mr. Smith recently joined Mordini Watters Capital Partners and is responsible for asset management and operations management of MWCP’s diverse real estate portfolio. Mr. Smith brings his extensive experience in development, construction, sales and operations to the MWCP team. Mr. Smith has been involved with real estate development since 1998, and has been a key player at several of the nation’s best multi-family developer’s including JPI, Greystar and Wood Partners. Most recently, Mr. Smith helped form and manage Hibernia Holdings, a multi family development company with apartment veteran, Timothy M. McEntee. Mr. Smith has served on the board of directors of numerous home owner associations and serves as Committee Chairperson for his ranch owner’s association in Huerfano County. Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Wyoming and has been an active real estate broker in Colorado since 1999.




Sabine LatzaSabine Latza, Vice President:

During the past five years that Sabine has worked with the principals of Mordini Watters Capital Partners at its predecessor, Icon Investment Group, she has been a key player in helping build and manage Mordini Watters portfolio of assets, and has successfully coordinated the closing of 20 transactions, including acquisitions, loan closings, and asset disposition, totaling approximately $150 million. In addition, Sabine directly managed the re-entitlement and clearing of two mobile home parks in Las Vegas that were subsequently a 760,000 SF industrial building and a new High School for Clark County School District. These were complex and crucial steps in the re-development of the underlying sites, and were completed on time, and under budget. Behind the scenes, Sabine oversees the company level administration of MWCP. Formerly, Sabine was the Operational Accountant for Swisslog Translogic Corporation. In this role, she was in charge of reporting and accounting for six Wal-Mart construction projects, each totaling over $144 million in project costs.




Jill A. Armayor

Kurt Wiedt, President, Momentum Funding:

Mr. Wiedt brings over ten years experience in real estate finance and operations to Mordini Watters Capital Partners and is President of the Mordini Watters subsidiary, Momentum Funding. A licensed Colorado Real Estate Broker and a registered Colorado Mortgage Broker, Mr. Wiedt’s background includes underwriting, client service, marketing, and company development. Prior to joining MWCP, he co-founded Capital Mortgage Group, Inc, a mortgage brokerage, where he oversaw a production team that completed over $600 million in residential and commercial transactions. Additionally, Mr. Wiedt’s experience includes founding Capital West Title LLC, a full service title insurer focused on the Colorado market, and acting as branch manager of Charter West LLC, a mortgage banker specializing in HUD financing. Mr. Wiedt graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.




Jill A. Armayor

Jill A. Armayor, Marketing and Research:

Jill has devoted her time to creating a corporate identity for the company, focused on projects such as the launch of the MWCP website, the induction of the MWCP quarterly newsletter, the creation of press releases, the development of sale and equity presentations, and market research for a variety of MWCP business units and prospective ventures. Jill has 12 years of experience in program management and has assisted in the coordination and launch of two successful business ventures. She has written for several publications and has drafted the teaching curriculum for a handful of professional seminars and courses. She received her Master’s Degree at Texas Woman’s University in 2001 and graduated with honors from California Polytechnic State University in 1996. Jill is a contributor to several local and national charities.




Diane ZaharrisDiane Zaharris, Office Manager and AP/AR:

Diane brings ten years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable to Mordini Watters Capital Partners. Ms. Zaharris effectively manages the accounting records for all of the MWCP properties, administers payroll, and handles the bulk of client correspondence. She also fills a vital roll as office manager, executing administrative decisions and acting as a crucial support to the management staff. Diane has been with the Mordini Watters team for almost three years.
